In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, the only independent MP from Bihar, has been accepted by the Congress as its own. Considering him not nine but ten MPs in the Mahagathbandhan, the Congress has counted Pappu Yadav with itself. This count has been done by none other than Bihar Pradesh Congress President Akhilesh Singh. Many Congress leaders including Akhilesh Singh were said to be against Pappu Yadav’s entry into the Congress and when despite the intervention of the state president, Pappu Yadav did not give up his insistence on contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Purnia, the party called the national spokesperson to Patna and held a press conference saying that Pappu Yadav had not taken membership of the Congress. We won 10 seats by adding Pappu Yadav’s seat
The state president of Congress while talking to journalists on Wednesday said that the Lok Sabha results did not come as expected but last time we had won one seat. This time we have won three seats. Mahagathbandhan won nine seats and if we add Pappu Yadav’s Purnea seat, we have won 10 seats. BJP got 12 out of 17 and Nitish Kumar’s party got 12 out of 16.
